What a executive assistant résumé has to show
- Seniority of the executives supported and how many
- Board or committee support, including papers and minutes
- Complex travel and calendar volume across time zones
- Budget, expense or vendor authority you held
Bullets you can adapt
Every one names a system or a surface, a change, and a number. Take the shape, not the figures — substitute your own and keep them defensible.
- Supported a CEO and two managing directors, protecting roughly 45 hours of meeting time a week across 4 time zones
- Prepared board packs for 6 meetings a year, coordinating 11 contributors and circulating papers 7 days ahead every time
- Coordinated 90 international trips a year including visa handling for 14 countries
- Ran the executive expense process for 9 leaders, closing €310k of annual spend with no audit findings
- Organised an annual leadership offsite for 120 people on a €140k budget, delivered €9k under
- Reduced diary conflicts from around 15 a month to 2 by introducing a weekly prioritisation review with the CEO
- Managed an office relocation for 85 staff across a single weekend with zero lost working days
And the ones to cut
These are duties and adjectives. They describe a job title, not a person doing it.
- Responsible for providing high-level support to senior management
- Trusted and discreet professional with excellent organisational skills
- Managed diaries, travel and general executive support

Executive Assistant résumé questions
How is this different from an administrative assistant CV?
The difference is judgement and exposure, not task volume. Board papers, gatekeeping decisions, confidential matters and budget authority are what distinguish executive support, so lead with those and put diary and travel logistics underneath. An EA CV that reads like office administration gets levelled down.
Can I name the executives I supported?
Name the roles, not the people. Supported the CEO and CFO of a 900-person manufacturer gives all the signal needed, and naming individuals without their agreement raises the same discretion concern the job is built to avoid.
Should I mention that I handle confidential information?
Only by showing it, never by claiming it. Board papers, restructuring logistics and executive compensation administration all imply confidentiality without the word. The phrase discreet and trustworthy is on almost every EA CV and therefore carries no weight.
