Truck Driver résumé example for 2026

For driving roles the licence block is the CV. Categories, code 95, tachograph record and clean licence status decide whether anyone reads further, then annual mileage, load types and delivery reliability fill in the rest.

What a truck driver résumé has to show

  1. Licence categories held, with code 95 and expiry
  2. Annual mileage and vehicle types driven
  3. Accident and infringement record, stated plainly
  4. Load types: ADR, refrigerated, tautliner, tanker

Bullets you can adapt

Every one names a system or a surface, a change, and a number. Take the shape, not the figures — substitute your own and keep them defensible.

  • Drove 120,000 km a year on CE international routes with zero at-fault accidents in 6 years
  • Completed 18 to 22 multi-drop deliveries a shift across urban Munich with 99.2% on-time arrival
  • Held a clean tachograph record with no driver hours infringements across 4 consecutive DVSA-equivalent audits
  • Hauled ADR class 3 and class 8 loads for 3 years with full documentation checks on every consignment
  • Cut fuel use by 6.4% over 12 months, worth about €4,300 a year on my vehicle, through coasting and speed discipline
  • Carried out daily walkaround checks on a 40-tonne artic and reported 31 defects before they became roadside failures
  • Trained 5 new drivers on route familiarisation and load securing over two peak seasons

And the ones to cut

These are duties and adjectives. They describe a job title, not a person doing it.

  • Responsible for delivering goods safely and on time
  • Reliable driver with a good knowledge of the road network
  • Carried out deliveries and collections as instructed

Truck Driver résumé questions

Where do I put my licence details?

In a block directly under your name, before the work history. Categories, code 95 status and expiry date, plus any ADR endorsement, are hard screens that dispatchers check first. A driving CV that makes a recruiter hunt for the licence usually gets skipped.

Should I mention points or past infringements?

State your current licence status honestly, because it will be checked before any offer. A clean licence stated up front is a selling point, and a small historic endorsement with the date is far less damaging than one discovered at the check stage.

Does the type of work matter more than years driving?

Yes. Long distance international, multi-drop urban and tanker work are genuinely different jobs with different hours and handling skills. Say which you have done and which you want, because operators hire against their own run profile rather than general experience.

Start from this example, then make it yours.
