Nursing résumés are screened for licence, setting and volume before anything else. This example puts all three above the fold, then shows patient load and outcomes rather than a duty list.

What a registered nurse résumé has to show
- Licence and registration number line, plus expiry — screeners look for it first
- Setting and acuity: ICU, ED, med-surg, theatre, and beds or patient ratio
- Certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) with dates
- Patient volume per shift, so experience is quantified
Bullets you can adapt
Every one names a system or a surface, a change, and a number. Take the shape, not the figures — substitute your own and keep them defensible.
- Managed a 6-patient med-surg assignment across 12-hour shifts with a 98% medication-accuracy audit result
- Precepted 8 new graduate nurses; all 8 completed orientation on schedule
- Reduced central-line infection rate on the unit from 2.1 to 0.6 per 1,000 line-days over 18 months
- Triaged up to 40 patients per shift in a level-2 emergency department
- Led the unit's transition to Epic, training 34 staff with no drop in documentation compliance
- Cut discharge delays 22% by reorganising the medication-reconciliation step
And the ones to cut
These are duties and adjectives. They describe a job title, not a person doing it.
- Provided high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
- Administered medications and monitored patients
- Compassionate nurse dedicated to patient wellbeing

Registered Nurse résumé questions
Where do I put my nursing licence?
In the contact block or immediately under it. Many hospital systems filter on licence state and status before a human sees the file, and a licence buried under education is a licence that was never read.
Should a nurse résumé be one page?
Two is normal and expected in healthcare. Clinical detail, certifications and settings do not compress the way commercial experience does.
How do I show impact as a bedside nurse?
Volume and outcomes. Patient ratio, shift length, audit results, infection rates, preceptees. These are the numbers your unit already tracks.
